Inspired by Madi's artsy food pictures with cool foreign landscape backdrops.
View from breakfast!
Guten morgen. Frühstück. (:
Morning jog in the hills of Trier, Germany.
I spy a castle.
Die Kuh.
We took lots of detours (some more intentional than others) around these beautiful German villages.
Ausfahrt (exit) - we remember these from our days in Germany.
A tell-tale sign that you're in a German supermarket.. didn't make the cut to be a part of our picnic lunch.
An apple pastry and "einfahrt" (entrance) sign that Josh and Rachel laughed about when we lived in Germany. I tried apple pastries/crumbles/tarts across Europe, in 7 different cities. The winners were the ones I bought in... Delft, then Den Haag, then Antwerpen. (Paris and Germany were near the bottom of the list, surprisingly.) Yes, crisp apple strudel is one of my favorite things!
Maastricht, Nederland!
Our fancy hotel that we lucked out getting a great deal on last-minute-- yay for tourist off-season. (:
Jogging on some misty Maastricht trails.
Bye, beautiful Maastricht! Back to the car.. time to drive six hours north up to Groningen.
